Luminex^® Multiplex Assay

The multiplexing functionality enabled by Luminex technology offers reductions in time and cost over traditional methods like ELISA or Western blot and is particularly advantageous for small sampling volumes. Scorpius offers Luminex^® Multiplex Bead Immunoassays, including solid-phase assays designed to measure up to 36 analytes in a single sample. Custom and predefined panels are available for analysis with human, mouse, rat, non-human primate, porcine, and canine analytes. This instrument and assay architecture is optimal for biomarker discovery and screening patient samples collected during clinical trials.

The spectral properties of the magnetic beads include 100 distinct bead regions that identify the analyte while detection antibodies are employed to determine analyte concentration. This innovative technology allows Scorpius to offer extreme, high throughput multiplexing with minimal sample volume. Overall, more than 300 cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and other protein targets can be offered for analysis. All assays are validated for use with cell culture supernatant, tissue lysates, plasma, and serum. We offer both commercially available and customizable panels.
